I'll keep this updated as new questions arise. Feel free to reach out if you want more info that isn't included here.
1. Is there a word limit?
No, there is no minimum or maximum word count.
2. Is there a penalty for not completing my story in time?
No. This is meant to be a low-pressure, "just enjoy yourself" event. The collection will remain open after the posting date, and you're welcome to submit later if you want/need.
3. How/where will stories be posted?
All stories will be posted to an AO3 collection, which will open when titles are sent out.
4. Do I need an AO3 account to participate?
Yes. All works will be submitted to an AO3 collection, so you'll need to have an account (you are welcome to post your work anonymously if you prefer though). If you need an AO3 invite, I have several to spare, so feel free to send me a message.
5. Do I need Dreamwidth to participate?
No. I'll use this comm to post broad updates and info, but the bulk of communication will be via email.
6. What happens if there aren't enough titles for everyone?
In the off chance this happens, I'll make up extra titles so that everyone can receive three. Right now though, I don't foresee this happening.
7. Is this anonymous? Can I talk about my titles with others?
Yes, you can absolutely discuss your titles with whomever you like. I made the decision not to include the title submitter's info when I sent out assignments so that no one felt like they were creating for a certain person or other awkwardness. Now that the title is in your hands, it's yours to do with as you will!
8. Can I use this title/fic with another exchange or fest?
Yep! If you have other events you're participating in and one of your titles works for it, by all means, double up.
9. Do I have to use the title exactly as written?
No. Feel free to change capitalization, punctuation, or shorten a title if it works better for your fic/style. In the spirit of the event, I'd appreciate if you didn't make too broad of changes, but I'm also not going to be comparing posted titles to the assignments.
