Welcome to the inaugural year of Insert Title Here, a title-first fic challenge.

We've all been there: you finish a fic, it's beautiful, you love it, it's all ready to post, and then the realization hits you. You need a title.

Insert Title Here solves that issue from the get-go. Here, you start with the title, and use that as a jumping off point for creating a fic.

The Basics:
During the signup period, participants provide 1-5 potential fic titles. At the end of sign-ups, everyone will receive 3 titles from the submissions. You can use all of your titles, or just one, whatever floats your boat.

All fandoms/pairings/ratings are welcome. There are no word count minimums or maximums.

Important Dates:
Sign-Ups: Feb 9 - March 3 (Signups will close at 7:00am Pacific Time. Check your local time here.)

Titles sent: March 3-5

Assignments due: April 2 at 11:59pm PDT (check local time here) You can find the collection for posting here.

Works Revealed: April 5 at 9:00am PDT (check local time here)

Hi! There are no minimum or maximum word requirements. The only hard and fast rule is that you use one of the titles you're given.

Hi, are there rules/penalties regarding dropping out halfway through in case of emergencies or lack of inspiration, or is this a more casual "do it as it inspires" type of challenge where there are no penalties related to being unable to finish?

Nope, there are no penalties for dropping out or posting your story late. The intent is for it to be fairly low pressure while getting some new inspiration. 😊

Hi! I was wondering if you're planning on running this event again next year. Or maybe some sort of bonus round where we choose an unused title from the spreadsheet with all the submitted titles? There were sooo many and all of them were so good!! (I tried to come up with something that wouldn't require much moderation on your part.)

Yes! Depending on how my personal schedule goes, I'm planning to run it again in either April or May next year.
